MUD PIES
We’re Mud Foods – an artisan pie maker from the South Downs.
To produce the finest pies and pastries, we source the finest quality ingredients, sourced as locally as possible, such as hand-cut, grass-fed matured beef, free-range chicken and top quality lamb, as well as organic milk and cream from the famous Goodwood Estate – quality without compromise.
Mud Foods has won 129 awards at the last count, mostly at the British Pie Awards and Great Taste Awards, and has a national loyal fan base of Mud pie lovers!
Currently distributing throughout the whole of the South East and London but also throughout most of mainland UK via our distributions partners.

Award-Winning Excellence
Mud Foods has earned a stellar reputation for its pies and squiches (that’s a square quiche!). It has received 145 awards, and counting, including high honours at the British Pie Awards, where Christian has won many Class Champions and numerous gold, silver and bronze medals over the years.

Pastry
At Mud Foods take great pride in crafting the most delicious pies, and it all starts with their handmade buttery shortcrust pastry which is enriched with local free-range eggs. They also make gluten-free pastry to the same high standards, so coeliacs, or those just looking to cut down on gluten, can also enjoy their scrumptious pies.

Meat Filling
Mud Foods uses only the finest, hand cut, locally sourced meat to make our savoury meat pies, including 28-day matured steak from grass-fed cows, free-range British chicken, ham from outdoor-reared pigs, and wild game from the South Downs.

Vegetarian Pies
Vegetarians can enjoy Mud Foods’ range of mouth-watering pies, hand crafted with the freshest, locally sourced ingredients like cheese, our homemade red onion marmalade, roasted vegetables, and feta cheese

Fruit Pies
Indulge in the juicy richness of our fruit pies, crafted with fresh ingredients like black cherries, apples, blackberries, and apricots, encased in our all-butter shortcrust pastry – just add your favourite ice cream, cream or custard for the taste of pie-fection.

Squiches
We make handcrafted square quiches sure to delight any pie and quiche enthusiast.
Squiches are light and fluffy pastry that works well for many different meals. Specific breakfast squiches provide a protein-powered start to your day, whereas light-filled squiches make for the perfect light snack or lunch. Enjoy a squiche entirely on its own, or add your favourite sides for even more flavour.

Abbotts Ann Village Shop is now stocking all of the above, including those amazing Squiches, come in and have a browse, treat yourself to one of these pies, even following up with maybe a cherry pie for dessert – scrumptious!

Wessex Country Gammons

From their Website:
Some years ago Richard Isaacs had begun perfecting his butchery skills. It was in Wimborne of Dorset where he developed his traditional knowledge and expertise. He remains local to this day, maintaining his local butchery craftsmanship and traditions. And his exhaustive passion for butchery specialisation has led to his perfection of Dorset Cured Ham.

Made with care and dedication, creating excellent produce with significant taste and an ever-growing appetite through reputation, led to Richard moving his speciality food production to larger premises to satisfy customer demands for his produce. Richard’s business continues to thrive and now employs over 30 local staff.

The core values that Richard and his family embedded in the business still continue to this day.
