Wessex Mill is an artisan flour, milled in the heart of the beautiful North Wessex Downs. A family-owned brand, its milling history in Wessex goes back more than 100 years.

Sourcing grain grown close to the mill to support local farmers and reduce food miles is very important to us. We are proud to use only the best local wheat for all our core bread and culinary flours procured direct from farmers we know and trust. The grain variety and farmer is printed on our flour bags giving real transparency.

Once we receive the grain onto site, we mill it slower and in smaller batches than larger mills, which we believe allows us to deliver fantastic quality flour that performs consistently, again and again. We are delighted to have won numerous Great Taste Awards over the years for a number of our flours.

Six Seed Bread Flour
Delightful malted bread flour bursting with seeds perfect for loaves or rolls.

A bestseller, this combination of wheat flour, kibbled malted wheat, linseed, millet seed, poppy seed, sunflower seed and chia seed and a dash of barley malt flour is amazing and makes a delicious loaf of bread that’s most enticing. Also great for rolls. This flour is made with carefully selected grain from local farms. It works well in bread machines or as a hand bake.

Wessex Cobber Bread Flour

Traditional granary style malted wheat bread flour. A classic recipe.

A traditional granary style malted bread flour made from wheat flour with a blend of malted wheat flakes, malted barley and a touch of rye.
Made with carefully selected grain from local farms and bakes into a delicious loaf whether made in a machine or by hand.

Strong White Bread Flour

Our best-selling strong bread flour for use in yeasted or sourdough loaves and rolls.

Our most popular Strong White Bread Flour made from the best quality bread making wheat sourced from local farms. Perfect for use in yeasted or sourdough loaves and rolls. It works well in bread machines or as a hand bake.
This flour contains vitamin C (ascorbic acid), which increases the volume and lift of dough for a more impressive loaf. If you prefer your flour without vitamin C then try our Artisan Strong White Bread Flour (available only in 16kg).

Wholemeal Bread Flour

100% of the grain makes up this delicious wholesome flour.

100% percent of the grain makes up this wholemeal flour with grain sourced from local farms. Perfect for loaves or rolls and suitable for hand or machine baking.

French Bread Flour

T65 French bread flour made with French wheat. Makes delicious French baked bread goods.

A low protein flour, this flour is great for making authentic French breads and baguettes delivering a light, airy and open textured result with a crisp crust.
The 65 in T65 refers to the ash content of the flour. So T65 has 0.65% ash in it, a T55 would be 0.55% ash and would be slightly whiter.
Traditional French Bread is made with only flour, yeast and water. It tends to go stale very quickly, but has a truly wonderful taste when fresh.

Wholemeal Rye Flour

Stoneground ancient grain flour made from 100% of the rye grain.

Stoneground in our traditional stone mill, 100% of the grain is used in this pure rye flour, which produces tasty close textured bakes.
Use 50/50 with wheat for a delicious loaf with an ancient grain twist. Can also be used to make delicious biscuits, scones and cakes.
We do not advise this is used within a bread machine unless you have a specific rye setting, rye paddle or recipe.

Plain Flour

Made from the finest quality soft wheat, this flour is excellent for general baking and cooking.

This premium Plain White flour is made from the finest quality soft wheat from local farms within 50 miles of our North Wessex Downs Mill. It is great for biscuits, cakes, pancakes and other general baking and cooking.

Self-Raising Flour

A superb cake making flour made from local wheat with added raising agents.

The Wessex Mill version of a self-raising flour. Made from the best soft wheats carefully selected from local farms and expertly milled with added raising agents creates this fantastic flour great for all kinds of cake making. Tested to ensure it makes light, fluffy and springy sponges.

English Sparkling Wine – Pinot Blend Brut

INTRODUCING

GOODWORTH 2019 PINOT BLEND BRUT

(50% Pinot Noir, 50% Pinot Meunier)

This is a perfect and exact blend between Pinot Noir, chosen for its red fruits aroma, its body, depth of flavour and fullness, and Pinot Meunier, our favourite, for its aromatic sweetness,  a lush fruitiness and the capacity to acquire the roundness of age comparatively rapidly.  

The Pinot Noir grape provides the back-bone of our wine, whilst the Pinot Meunier lends softness and orchard fruit aromas. A beautifully rich golden colour as well as an intense nose with red fruit aromas, such as red cherry, cranberry and redcurrant, are enticing us to take a first sip. A hint of strawberry lingers in the background. A creamy, full mouthfeel contributes to a very long finish. Ideal served on its own as an apéritif or try it alongside a quiche Lorraine or Parma ham.
